Psychological Therapy
Psychological therapy is a collaborative process in which psychologist and client work to identify, explore, and resolve the personal and interpersonal challenges that a client is facing.
Through psychological therapy, psychologist and clients work together to identify patterns of thought, deeply held beliefs, emotions, and maladaptive coping behaviours that contribute to their distress. Through the therapeutic process, the client develops greater insight into the interplay of these factors. For many clients, discussions in therapy lead to fundamental shifts in perspective and beliefs. Therapy also provides specific skills and strategies to be implemented outside of the therapy room. Ultimately, good psychological therapy empowers clients to use adaptive coping strategies, and to drive change in their lives that is meaningful to them.
Psychologists at the Mind Hub are trained in and use a range of modalities. Whatever the modality, at the heart of our psychological therapy lies a commitment to understanding and empowering each individual who walks through our doors.

Contact Us
The first step is to get in contact with us! You can reach us via phone, email, or the form on this website. We will get an understanding of what’s going on for you or your loved one right now and allocate a clinician based on area of expertise. We will then schedule an initial appointment with you.
Initial Assessment
Therapy stars with an initial assessment. This is used to identify strengths, current difficulties, life situation, a history, and goals for therapy. Based on this information, your psychologist will develop a treatment plan in collaboration with you. Initial assessment may take one or two sessions.
Intervention
The intervention will address underlying unhelpful thinking patterns, core beliefs and schema, modify maladaptive behavioural responses, and provide adaptive ways of coping. The duration of the intervention will depend on the nature of the presenting difficulties and the treatment modality used.
Monitor Outcomes
Our clinicians will use objective measures to determine whether things are improving, as well as obtaining qualitative information on your experience of the therapeutic process. If treatment is not progressing, your practitioner will discuss alternative approaches or other options with you.
Finish Therapy
When you have reached your goals, your psychologist will move toward finishing therapy. This includes identifying the helpful aspects of therapy, recognising warning signs the original difficulties are returning, strategies to address this, and a plan if if your welbeing deteriorates.
Presenting Problems
Our practitioners provide psychological therapy for a wide range of presenting difficulties. The treatment modality utilised depends on the nature of presenting difficulties. Your psychologist may integrate aspects of different therapeutic approaches.
We have included a list of common presenting problems that our psychologists are able to provide treatment for. Click to expand for a brief outline of the presenting problem and a brief description of a typical treatment approach.
Please note this is a general description and that treatment plans are tailored to the individual. Please also note that this list is not exhaustive. If your difficulties are not listed, please feel free to contact us to discuss your current needs.
